One of the university's most cherished academic events, the annual Capstone Festival highlights the excellence of undergraduate research and scholarship at Mary Baldwin. This year, the festival was presented in a virtual format for the first time. Congratulations to the Capstone award winners whose projects show outstanding creativity, challenge, execution, and communication.

Biochemistry major Bethany Taylor placed first in a competition during the 2019 Research Experience Undergraduate (REU) program at James Madison University. She won first place in the elevator pitch competition in which students make a three-minute video designed to introduce their research work to a new acquaintance in casual conversation.
